While many modern artists tend to idealize our world and focus on capturing its natural beauty, other artists can create fantastic art out of ordinary and mundane parts of life.
Ron Mueck is an artist known for his hyper-realistic modern sculptures of human beings at essential parts of their life from birth all of the way through death.
Born in 1958 in Melbourne, Australia, Ron Mueck was the son of German toy-makers. As such, he grew up making all kinds of puppets, creatures and, costumes, experimenting with many materials and techniques.
His later career had him working on films like Labyrinth and The Storyteller as a model maker and puppeteer. Eventually, he transitioned to making photo-realistic animatronics and props for commercials before starting a fine contemporary art career in 1996. By 1999, Mueck was an Associate Artist at the National Gallery, London.
